An amusement park is the best way to take our day off and have some fun with family and friends. There are thousands of amusement parks around the world, all of which are just raising the standard of adventure.
Today we look into the top 10 amusement parks which every adventurer must visit.
1. Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure
Located in Orlando, Florida, Universal’s Island of Adventure was launched way back in 1999. The park’s slogan is ‘Vacation Like You Mean,’ which was introduced in 2013. Initially, the park has seven islands, but now an eighth one is introduced based on the King Kong theme. This park is known to be one of the largest investments by the company. Its prime locations include Jurassic Park river, Incredible Hulk Coaster, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Skull Island.
2. Magic Kingdom
Owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company, Magic Kingdom is a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake. The park is entirely dedicated to fairy tales and Disney characters. The park even has a representation of the Cinderella castle inspired by its 1950 film. Magic Kingdom also ranks as one of the most visited amusement parks for the thirteenth consecutive year. Its top spots include Space Mountain, Monster Inc laugh floor, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the Jungle cruise.
Located in the Netherlands, Efteling is a fantasy-themed amusement park owned by Efteling Nature Park Foundation. The park’s concept is based on elements from ancient myths and legends, fairy tales, fantasy, and folklore. The park is one of the oldest amusement parks and is said to be twice the size of Disneyland, California. The park has in total six rollercoasters along with various amusing spots.
4. Tokyo DisneySea
The next one up on the list is the Tokyo DisneySea, which was opened in 2001 and is worth 335 billion yen. The park is owned by The Oriental Land Company and covers an area of 176-acre. Each year, the park visits nearly fifteen million visitors, making it one of the top-visited theme parks in the world. The park is divided into seven themes port, with the park entrance being Mediterranean Harbor.
5.Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi
In fifth place comes the Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, which is an indoor amusement park. The park is possessed and developed by Miral Asset Management. The construction of the park costs around $1 billion. The entire park hallmarks different Warner Bros franchises such as Looney Tunes, DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, and many others. The park in total contains 29 rides along with some amazing restaurants, attractions, shops, and shows.
6. Shanghai Disneyland
Shanghai Disneyland park in China is a wonderful part of the Shanghai Disney Resort. The park is a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company and Shendi, which was launched in 2016. Within a few years, it became one of the top amusement parks in the world. The park is divided into seven themed areas: Mickey Avenue, Gardens of Imagination, Fantasyland, Treasure Cove, Adventure Isle, Tomorrowland, and Toy Story Land.
7. Universal Studios Hollywood
As the name suggests, Universal Studios Hollywood is a film-themed park located in Los Angeles County, California. The park was initially created to offer tours of the real Universal Studios sets, but later it got converted into a full-fledged Universal Studios Theme Park. The park, without a doubt, is spectacular and a must-visit for all the film lovers out there. The prime spots of the park are, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Silly Swirly, and Super Silly Fun World.
8. Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood studio is a part of Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. This park is based on the concept introduced by Marty Sklar, Randy Bright, and Michael Eisner. The park is now the third of four theme parks built at Walt Disney World, and its theme is the imaginary world from film, television, music, and theatre. The park is a total inspiration from the Golden Age of Hollywood. The best spots of the park are Earffel Tower, Echo lake, Toy Story land, and Hollywood Boulevard.
9. Disney California Adventure
Disney California Adventure, also called Disney California Adventure Park, is dedicated to the history and culture of California. The park is known to celebrate the fun and adventure of California through various Disney, Pixar, and Marvel properties. The park was launched in 2001 and is the second of two theme parks formed at the Disneyland Resort complex. The prime attraction of the park includes Buena Vista Street, Pixar Pier, Paradise Gardens Park, Grizzly Peak, and much more.
10. Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Located in Florida, Disney’s animal kingdom to be more precise, is a zoological theme park. It is even the largest theme park in the world which, covers a distance of 580 acres. As the name suggests, the park is entirely dedicated, to the natural environment and animal conservation. The prime attractions of the park include Avatar Flight of Passage, Navi River Journey and much more. It is definitely one of its kind park that will give you one in a lifetime experience.
11. Gardaland, Italy
The next one up the list is Gardaland resort, which is situated in Italy. The resort includes a theme park, Gardaland sea life, and a restaurant. The resort lies adjacent to Lake Garda and gives the visitors a phenomenal view. In 2005, the park had a recording-breaking achievement by featuring in Forbes list of the top 10 amusement parks. The chief attraction of the park includes Mammut, Jungle Rapids, Fuga Da Atlantide, Shaman, Blue Tornado, and Ramses: Il Risveglio.
12. Pleasure Beach
Pleasure Beach, also called Blackpool pleasure beach, brings our two personal favourites together, beach and theme park. Well, the fun doesn’t end here. The park even has the largest collection of wooden roller coasters of any park in the United Kingdom. Each of these surely will give you a record-breaking experience; the tallest one of them all is The Big One.
13. Alton Towers
Alton Towers or Alton Tower resort is situated in Staffordshire, England, and is operated by Merlin Entertainments Group. The complex also has a water park, spa, mini-golf, and hotel complex along with the theme park. It is titled as the second most visited park in the UK, with its prime attraction being Congo River Rapids, Runaway Mine Train, Nemesis, and Wicker Man. The park operates ten fantastic rollercoasters that will blow your mind!
14. Port Aventura
Located in Spain, Port Aventura World is an entertainment resort. The park is known to attract 3.5 million visitors per year, making it one of the prime tourist attractions in Spain. The resort has some really exciting rides such as Furius Baco, ESTACIÓ DEL NORD, Kontiki, and much more. The resort even has a spectacular show to make sure it is an unforgettable experience for its visitors.
15. Legoland, Denmark
Legoland Park, is also referred to as Legoland Billund Resort, was opened to the public on 7 June 1968. In 2011 the park had over 1.9 million visitors. Legoland is the largest tourist attraction in Denmark since it is a totally worth it experience, especially for Lego lovers. There are various notable attractions throughout the park, especially the mainland, since it is constructed with millions of Lego pieces.
