Clean and serene beaches give a person some peace. Long walks on those serene beaches with the sound of waves and collecting seashells sound almost perfect. Listening to the waves and getting a sunbath sound like some ideal peaceful time. An ideal beach vacation might differ from person to person. Keeping the beaches clean is also our responsibility and not just of the cleaners. We expect the beaches to be clean so at least on an individual basis, all we could do is not to pollute the beach and help keep it clean.

1. Radhanagar Beach, Andaman& Nicobar Islands

This is the second-longest beach in Asia. It is famous for its unique sand texture. One can’t afford to miss the sunset from this beach. The scenery is breathtaking as well as the orange pink purple sky is something which you cannot forget once you see it. This beach offers very well maintained bathrooms and changing room facilities. It is considered to be one of the best beaches in the world by Time Magazine. 

How To Reach: Government and private ferries from Port Blair to Havelock Island.

2. Marari Beach, Kerala

Alleppey (Alappuzha) is famous for its backwaters and houseboat stays. This beach isn’t yet discovered by many people and is calm, peaceful and quiet. It’s the best place to visit if you wish to spend some quality time with yourself. Find your inner peace. It is bordered by a small fishing village named Mararikulam.

How To Reach: It is 11 km from Alleppey. The nearest station is Alleppey and then one could hire a taxi or a private vehicle. The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, Kochi, which is 60 km away.

Talasari’s literal translation is Row of Palm trees, Tala meaning Palm and Sari meaning Row. Therefore, the beach is surrounded by palm and coconut trees. This beach is not much explored as the rest beaches in Odisha. The surroundings are beautiful and quiet, which will help calm your mind.

How To Reach: The nearest railway station is in Odisha, Jaleshwar, which is 36 km away and the nearest airport is Bhubaneswar Airport, which is 300 km away. However, it is almost 8-10 km away from Digha, West Bengal. One could hire a cab from the Digha railway station.

4. Bhogwe Beach, Kudal

It is located in Kudal, Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. Bhogwe beach is situated in Bhogwe village. This is an unexplored beach, hence, you can call it a hidden gem. One can’t stop admiring its beauty and the surroundings that it offers. There are various resorts and hotels that serve the best Konkani Food. There is a Dolphin Spot if you wish to see. You can spot white dolphins.

How to Reach: To reach Bhogwe beach, Kudal or Kankavali by Road are the nearest cities. Goa Mumbai Highway is well connected to reach Kudal and Kankavli. Private buses are available to reach Kudal and Kankavli.

5. Baga Beach, Goa

It is named after Baga creek located in the Arabian Sea. Where Calangute beach ends, that’s where Baga Beach starts. This beach is famous for the nightlife as well as the amazing party life. This beach also offers a great variety of water sports.

How to Reach: It is 41 km away from the nearest airport, Dabolim, Goa International Airport. It is 11 km away from the nearest railway station.

Malpe is a natural port a few kilometers to the west of Udupi, Karnataka. It is a great place to watch the sunset over the Arabian sea. The water is clean and shallow which means one can enjoy swimming if they wish. There are many water sport activities one can enjoy. There are also many food joints nearby at great rates. How to Reach: There is a bus service from the Udupi city bus stand. It is 60 km from Mangalore and 425 km from Bangalore, this place is well connected by roads and railway stations.

The shape of the beach resembles the Sanskrit word “OM” when looked at from the aerial point of view. Om beach is located near the Kudle beach. Namaste Cafe is a very popular cafe near the beach. There is a cluster of rocks at the entry, a great place to take good photographs.

How to reach: From Gokarna town, one can reach Om Beach by hiring a local taxi or by bus. Anyone travelling by train from Mumbai or Goa to Mangalore can also get down at Gokarna Road (station) which is almost 6km from the city.

8. Kovalam Beach, Kerala

Kovalam is called the Paradise of the south by some magazines. Kovalam got its name due to the coconut trees lined up on the seashore. It is a great place for surfers and the nearby art galleries are worth stopping by. This beach is closely located close to the hills with a lighthouse just like a cherry on top.

How to Reach: Trivandrum International Airport is the nearest airport and is around 15 km away from the main city. Trivandrum Central Railway is the nearest railway and is located at a distance of 12 km from Kovalam. Kerala State Road Transportation Services offers many buses and Volvos from different parts of the state to reach Kovalam.

9. Yarada Beach, Andhra Pradesh

This beach is also one of the hidden beaches that are yet to be explored. This beach doesn’t offer water sports and swimming isn’t recommended due to high water currents and steep slope. Nature’s beauty is worth all the ride. The beach offers lush greenery with a peaceful atmosphere. It is also called the Golden Beach as the sun’s reflection is admirable.

How to reach: It’s a 15 km drive from Vishakapatnam.

10. Karde Beach, Dapoli

This is one of the best beaches in the Konkan region. It is also one of the most serene beaches. The beach offers a scenic view of dolphins and witnesses migratory birds. This beach has black sand and is pollution-free. It’s a 4 km stretch. It has a beautiful view with a breath-taking sunset.

How to Reach: It is a 12 km drive from Dapoli.

11. Thengapattanam Beach, Tamil Nadu

Thengapattanam is a coastal village in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. Thengapattanam means a city or a town with plenty of coconut trees. It is also on the coast of the Arabian Sea and sits at the southernmost tip of India. There is a 1500-year-old mosque worth visiting near the beach. This beach has white sand and swimming is recommended as the water is shallow. It is also famous as a great picnic spot with family and friends.

How to reach: There are frequent buses from Nagercoil and Thiruvananthapuram. The nearest Railway station is 12 km in Kuzhithurai.

12. Devbagh Beach, Karwar

It is located in the Sindhudurg district near Malvan. It is a very silent and serene beach. There are underwater activities and boat rides available. If you travel by road you can enjoy the ride or drive along the road which is parallel to this beach and at the same time enjoy the beach view.

How to reach: Regular buses from major nearby cities go down to Devbagh while the nearest railway station is Kudal.

13. Puri Beach, Odisha

This beach is located on the Bay Of Bengal shore. Sudarshan Pattnaik, a renowned international award-winning, the local sand artist exhibits his work on this beach. The famous Jagganath Puri temple is also close to this beach. This beach offers various water sports. In addition, there are camel and horse-rides.

How to reach: The nearest airport is at Bhubaneshwar. Puri is very convenient to reach by bus or car as it is well connected with all the major parts of India. Puri is the endpoint on the East Coast Railway having direct express and superfast train connected with all the major cities like Mumbai, Kolkata.

14. Varkala Beach, Kerala

It is also called the Papanasam Beach. It lies on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram district. At a distance, there is also a Sivagiri Mutt 2000-year-old Vishnu Temple and the Ashramam. There is also a Janardhanaswamy Temple near the beach.

How to reach: The Nearest railway station is Varkala which is about 3 km away.

15. Cherai Beach, Kochi

There are various unique seashells found here. One can also sight dolphins frequently. This serene beach is perfect for family time. It is a really good relaxing spot for all age groups to gaze at the sunset. Perfect beach in the area for a swim by the bay.

How to reach: The nearest railway station is Ernakulam Junction, and the nearest airport is the Cochin International Airport which is about 20 km.
